On Saturday 28 March 2009 British Karate celerbrated the career of Sensei Ticky Donovan O.B.E. 8th Dan,

With many of the countrys top Karateka present including Steve Arneil 9th Dan, Tyrone Whyte 6th Dan, Dave Hazzard 7th Dan, Aiden Trimble 7th Dan, to name but a few , The evening kicked of with a buffet meal on the tables of 10 people, followed by speaches from Mick Billman, Mick Dinsdale, Tatsuo Suzuki representative, Ian Cole, Simon Kidd, Tyrone Whyte, & 9 x World Karate Champion Wayne Otto O.B.E. all recounting there personal experiences of Sensei Donovan with many funny moments bringing laughter from the audience. the speeches ended with a presentation and a short speech from Ticky himself thanking everyone present for there support and for making the evening so memorable you could see that he was very moved and overwelmed with all the kind words, It was nice to see so many Karate ka from different styles enjoying the evening, 

The evening continued with many of the audience dancing the night away and the live singer made for an excellent evening.

Once again another great evening organised by Paul Alderson & Joe Long.
