Sensei Tony Gray 5th Dan started Karate in 1984 aged 15 at the Aldborough Hatch Ishinryu Karate Club under Sensei Cecil Hackett 5th Dan (former 2 x world games Champion & British International) and Sensei Dave Webster 5th Dan.

Tony graded to 2nd Kyu, and was then advised to train at the Atherton Sports Centre, East London under the Instruction of Former British, European and World Team Champion Sensei Tyrone Whyte 6th Dan.
Tony attained his

  • Shodan 1st Dan 1992Sensei Tony Gray 5th Dan - Mawashi
  • Nidan 2nd Dan 1995
  • Sandan 3rd Dan 1999
  • Yondan 4th Dan in 2003
  • Godan 5th Dan in 2008

Tony was a Westminster Council registered night club door supervisor in central London for over 4 years.

During this time he started training on the Senior E.K.G.B all styles National Squad and regularly fought for a place in the Senior English and British Karate Team, being selected in 1995 at the of age 25.

Tony won 5 National Senior Kumite Titles, European & World medals as a member of the English and British Karate Team. as well as having national champions and internationals training regular at his dojos in the south of England.

He continued to compete Internationally for several years in Europeans, World Cup & World Championships under Sensei Ticky Donovan O.B.E. 8TH Dan & later Sensei Vic Charles M.B.E. 7th Dan. Before retiring from International competition and starting his own Dry\cleaning business in 1999.

In 2008 Tony was able to travel to Japan and train under Sensei Tsuchiya 8th Dan & Sensei Fujita 7th Dan & Shotokan legend Sensei Mikio Yahara 8th Dan.

After returning from Japan in 2008 Sensei Tony Gray,& Sensei Steve Scott decided to form their own association, the Karate-Do Federation.

  • 1998 Bronze E.K.G.B Nationals Senior Openweight (Crystal Palace)
  • 1999 Silver Medal E.K.G.B Nationals Senior Open Weight (Crystal Palace)
  • 1999 Gold A.M.A National Senior Heavyweight Champion (Nottingham)
  • 1999 Gold A.M.A National Senior Openweight Champion (Nottingham)
  • 1999 Gold A.M.A International Senior Heavyweight Champion (Nottingham)
  • 2005 Gold E.K.G.B National Championships Masters Openweight Category (Sheffield)
  • 2006 Gold K.E. Karate England Senior National Championships Masters Openweight Category (Sheffield)
  • 2006 Silver B.K.F. British Championships Senior Openweight Masters Category (Sheffield)
  • 2009 Bronze B.K.F. British Championships Senior Openweight Master (Scotland)

Plus many open and regional championship Gold medals in his 20 years of competitive Karate.
